FOOD IRRADIATION

The process of irradiating foods, now sometimes called "Cold-Pasteurization", uses old nuclear waste from Nuclear energy plants and from atomic bomb construction and dismantling, to kill all living organisms (natural organisms) which in turn simply gives the food a longer shelf life for profitability.

Remember this healthy looking figure with the flower in it. This is the ‘public relations’ picture dreamed up by the billion-dollar food conglomerates so people would not think of their irradiated foods as actually being radiated.

 How Is food Irradiated?

Picture this. Inside a concrete wall usually 10 feet thick, there are warning signs which state, ‘Danger Radiation Area’.  Inside this radiation vault a door opens. The food of choice, around 5-10,000 pounds of it, is stacked in boxes on a conveyor belt. Once the food is in place, the conveyor door closes and another door opens from the floor beneath, revealing a seemingly harmful pool of water. However, this pool of water contains rods of radioactive ‘cobalt-60’, which is the waste product from the core of a Nuclear reactor, and now more commonly ‘cesium-137’, which is the waste product from atomic bomb construction. I do not make this up to scare you, it is the truth that is scaring you.
 
I hereby agree and demand that our governments immediately label all foods and food products which contain any irradiated foods and then begin to cease irradiating our food supply, until adequate safety testing proves them completely safe for human consumption.

Now, once that floor is fully opened, these radioactive rods rise out of the water and into the vault, exposing the food to between 100,000 and 5 million ‘rads’ of ionizing radiation. Only 100,000 rads is the equivalent dose of 2.5 million chest x-rays. That’s a dose 150 times the lethal dose to humans and even your physics text book will show you that only 10,000 rads totally destroy all living tissue.  After around 20 minutes of exposure, the radioactive rods lower back into the pool of water and the floor closes. A second vault door opens and the food is conveyed out. Now the food is ready and safe for you and your family to eat. The next batch of food is now conveyed into the vault and so on. Our businesses and governments tell us this is for our safety. However, the real reason is to stop the ripening of the foods in order to increase their shelf life.
